F*ck My Life (FML) – a phrase commonly used to express dismay or frustration at an upsetting situation. FML could also mean Fight for My Life, according to Kpop boyband Seventeen during an interview with Billboard.
FML, Seventeen’s new album and one of the lead songs, depicts new stages of life, and the feelings that come along with navigating such beginnings. Here’s how we can find meaning in our lives and fight for what we want out of it.

“I lost my way, I lost my aim / Dumbest person alivе”
New beginnings can be overwhelming. This is especially true if you’ve just graduated from school, started a new job, or noticed friends scoring their dream role while you’re still figuring out what path you want to pursue.
The boys of Seventeen shared with Billboard that there is more to what meets the eye. When it comes to ‘success’, especially on social media, not everything is as it seems.
Woozi: “We often only see the good parts of everyone’s lives, but there are so many battles that are not visible to the naked eye. Everyone goes through rough times.”
Your peers may seem like they have achieved success, but they may be feeling just as lost as you.

From now on I’ll fight for my life / For my own good, fight for my life
Wonwoo shared that Seventeen hopes FML gives fans strength, and acts as a reminder that it is okay to not have it all figured out yet.
It is okay to reach out to friends, teachers, colleagues, or even older relatives for help. Letting the fear of ‘losing out’ go. This will open more doors, and make navigating a new phase of life a lot easier! One way to let go of FOMO is to think of life as a journey growing from point to point.

“We’rе so used to feeling numb in this life / Now I just wanna find myself”
Figuring out what you want to do can only be achieved with a resilient mind and many failed attempts. The more you overcome the growing pains, the closer you are to finding what works for you!
DK: “Everyone has troubles of their own, so whatever it is that you’re going through, we hope you will be able to feel a little better and come to have a little bit of hope that brighter days will come after listening to our album.”
